How is artificial intelligence (AI) used in the recruitment process?

Every application is reviewed by a member of our team, and all hiring decisions are made by people. We may use AI tools to help with parts of our recruitment process. This can include finding candidates and checking applications against the job requirements. AI helps us identify relevant skills, experience and qualifications more efficiently, while ensuring every application receives human review and oversight.

What pre-employment checks are needed if I’m successful?

If you are offered a job, you may need to complete some background checks before you start work. As well as reference checks, we use CVCheck to carry out checks that match the role requirements.

Depending on the job, these may include:

  • proof of identity
  • right to work and visa checks
  • police checks
  • qualification and professional registration checks
  • employment history checks
  • bankruptcy and insolvency checks
  • financial and credit checks
  • medical assessment (fitness for work).

We will discuss any required checks with you during the recruitment process. Checks will only be carried out with your permission and in line with privacy and employment laws.

Can I ask for support for my interview?

If you need support, please let us know when we schedule your interview or email resourcing@sunwater.com.au. We can provide adjustments such as different formats for materials or changes to the interview setup.

Why do you ask for personal information about gender, ethnicity or disability?

You do not need to share this information unless you want to. We ask these questions to help us improve diversity and inclusion in our workforce. This information is kept strictly confidential.
