Paradise Dam – spill event

Update 7 – Monday 8 August, 12:55pm

Operational releases have commenced from the Paradise Dam outlet due to heavy rainfall in the catchment. The dam is currently at 102% capacity and continues to spill water.

Expect increased river flows downstream of the dam. The releases combined with other downstream catchment flows, could inundate Booyal Crossing.

Please avoid potential hazards and remember if it’s flooded, forget it.

Update 6 – Friday, 22 July, 5:15pm

Paradise Dam is 108.6% capacity is expected to exceed the minor flood level overnight.

Update 4 – Wednesday, 20 July, 12.45pm

Update 3 – Saturday, 16 July 2022, 3.30pm

Update 1 – Thursday, 30 June 2022, 4.20pm

Paradise Dam is currently 97.26% capacity and may spill excess water in the coming the days due to forecast rain. The Paradise Dam Emergency Action Plan has been activated and Sunwater will communicate with Bundaberg and North Burnett Local Disaster Management groups (LDMGs) as required.

We are monitoring the dam 24/7 and encourage the Bundaberg and North Burnet communities and downstream residents to:

· review their emergency plan and stay alert for further advice
