Burdekin Falls Dam Road reopens

Burdekin Falls Dam Road directly below the spillway has reopened for light vehicles. The road is open for single lane access only and has a speed limit of 10 kph until further notice.

Anyone wishing to access the road must adhere to COVID-19 protocols regarding travel and social distancing. Due to the COVID-19 health crisis, Sunwater recreation areas, dams, lakes and weirs are closed until further notice.

As the dam is near full, we encourage road users to check road conditions before you drive to the dam via Qld Traffic website or by calling Sunwater Customer Support team on 13 15 89.
