Beardmore Dam – spill event

Beardmore Dam is 97.1% capacity and no longer spilling.

Stay informed by:

  • downloading the Sunwater app
  • following Sunwater on Facebook and Twitter
  • checking Balonne Shire Disaster Dashboard  https://www.balonne.qld.gov.au/community/disaster-and-emergencies for emergency news, road and crossing closures and power outages
  • tuning into ABC local Radio
  • monitoring forecasts and river levels at bom.gov.au
  • checking the dam’s level at bit.ly/BeardmoreStorageLevel

Update 1 – 1 December 2022, 9pm

Beardmore Dam is 97.82% capacity and is expected to spill excess water in coming hours.

All persons who have pumps near the river have been advised to monitor its height and consider removal. Spillway discharges of 5000 ML per day are expected.

If downstream of the dam, expect increased river flows and remember if it’s flooded, forget it.
