Sunwater is pleased to advise that Julius Dam has reopened to visitors.  

Recent works have been undertaken to address drainage issues at the site to ensure road access is safe for visitors. These works are now completed.  

Update 5 – Tuesday 22 March 2022, 10:55am

This is a friendly reminder that Julius Dam remains temporarily closed to visitors.  

Sunwater is completing earthworks and addressing drainage issues at the site to ensure road access is safe for visitors. 

We look forward to inviting visitors back to Julius Dam once works are completed.  

An update will be provided when the site is expected to reopen.  

Update 4 – Saturday 19 February 2022, 9:30am

Julius Dam is no longer spilling excess water. There is no access to the dam until further notice. If you are downstream of the dam, continue to avoid potential hazards and remember if it’s flooded, forget it.

Julius Dam is 101.3% capacity and is spilling excess water,

If downstream of the dam, expect increased river flows and remember if it’s flooded, forget it.

Julius Dam is currently 96.32% capacity and may spill excess water in the coming hours due to forecast rainfall in the catchment. An update will be issued if the dam starts spilling.
