Warning area: Downstream of Burdekin Falls Dam
Burdekin Falls Dam is spilling excess water into the Burdekin River. Water flows from Burdekin Falls Dam are expected to remain within beds and banks of river. Expect increased river flows in 6-12 hours. The section of Burdekin Falls Dam Road directly below the spillway will remain closed while outflows occur. There is no immediate danger.
What you should do
- Decide what you will do if flooding starts.
- Do not enter floodwater, rivers or creeks.
