Leith Boully steps down as Sunwater Chairman

After more than five years serving on the Board of Sunwater, Chairman Ms Leith Boully stepped down from the role effective 28 February 2021.

Ms Boully said that while she has thoroughly enjoyed the role, she felt that Sunwater was well placed for the future and it was an appropriate time for her to focus on other projects.

Sunwater CEO, Mr Glenn Stockton AM, acknowledged Leith’s dedication to supporting regional Queensland and that her leadership had been instrumental in modernising Sunwater and ensuring it is focused on the needs of its customers.

“During Leith’s tenure on the Board, Sunwater has become an organisation better equipped to deliver water for prosperity – one focused on our customers and dedicated to supporting water security in regional Queensland,” he said.

“Leith’s tenacity, resolve and clear sense of fairness has underpinned her leadership and enabled the substantial development in our capacity to deliver improved outcomes.

“Her passion for how water generates opportunity has been a driving force during her time at Sunwater.

“As a leader in the industry, Leith has been instrumental in changing the way we plan for long-term water security and improve our resilience to ensure we can meet the challenges of the future.”

In announcing her decision to step down from the Board, Ms Boully reflected on how Sunwater had evolved during her time.

“Sunwater has been through tremendous change over the last five years. While is has at times been challenging, it has always been focused on making sure that Sunwater is supporting lives and livelihoods in regional Queensland,” she said.

“Every day Sunwater delivers for our customers. This wouldn’t be possible without the dedication and commitment of its staff. I would like to thank all the team at Sunwater for everything they do. It has been a privilege to serve as the Chairman and I wish the team the very best for the future.”

A new Chairman of the Board of Sunwater Ltd will be announced in due course.
