Kinchant Dam Open Day will be a free, family-friendly day out at Kinchant Dam, located 30 minutes from Mackay.   

Head out to the dam between 10am – 2pm on Saturday 20 August for live music, entertainment, emergency service displays, kids’ activities, food trucks and more.  

Talk to our Sunwater team on the day to learn about the Eton Water Supply Scheme, the history of the dam, how the dam operates and what you can do to prepare for local weather events.  

Mackay Powerboat Club will be running an event on the lake during the day. Catch all the high-speed boating action lakeside during the Kinchant Dam open day.
