ADVICE from Sunwater. Eungella Dam has returned to regular operating conditions. The Dam is continuing to spill excess water into Broken River however decreased river flows are expected today and tomorrow. Stay informed.

STAY INFORMED – Eungella Dam spilling excess water into Broken River

Warning level: ADVICE 

Warning area: Downstream of Eungella Dam

Eungella Dam continues to spill excess water into the Broken River. People downstream of Eungella Dam should STAY INFORMED and MONITOR CONDITIONS. Water flows from Eungella Dam may contribute to localised flooding. Increased river flows may be experienced overnight into tomorrow.

What you should do 

• Decide what you will do if flooding starts.  
• Stay out of rivers, creeks and floodwater.

• tune in to ABC Tropical North 101.1 FM  
• check local updates, road closures and evacuation information at Mackay Regional Council http://disaster.mackay.qld.gov.au/ and Whitsunday Regional Council http://disaster.whitsundayrc.qld.gov.au/ 
• monitor river and rainfall conditions at bit.ly/2CT116D or visit www.bom.gov.au/qld    
• call Triple Zero (000) if your life is in danger  
• for flood help, call the SES on 132 500 or download the SES Assistance QLD app.

Eungella Dam is spilling excess water into the Broken River. Water flows from Eungella Dam may contribute to localised flooding. Expect increased river flows later tonight.
