Peter Faust Dam | Boat Ramp reopened

The boat ramp at Peter Faust Dam (Lake Proserpine) has reopened today – Monday 30 March.

While the dam continues to spill, additional exclusion zones will be in place. We will be continuing to assess the situation and may recommend closing the boat ramp again if necessary.

Please note, the pontoon at the boat ramp has been removed due to damage. It is currently located in the boat ramp car park, which means there is reduced parking available.

Update 1 – Friday, 6 March 2026, 2:46pm

Peter Faust Dam boat ramp will be temporarily closed as the dam approaches and exceeds full supply level. The closure will be reviewed as circumstances change.

Sunwater and the Whitsunday Regional Council are working together to manage the situation with the community’s safety as the priority.

Updates will be provided via Sunwater’s Facebook page and Mobile App and the Whitsunday Regional Council Facebook page and website.

Day use areas and the Lake Proserpine Holiday Park remain open.
