Wuruma Dam | Temporary campground closure

Update 2 – Wednesday, 26 November 2025, 2.30pm

Work to upgrade the facilities at the Wuruma Dam campground are progressing well, however work is now expected to finish by mid-January 2026. (weather permitting). The campground, toilet block, lookout and dam wall will remain closed until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience by the temporary closure.

The boat ramp and water-based activities remain accessible via Wuruma Dam Road, with detour signage and traffic controllers in place when required. The public toilet facilities located near the boat ramp remain open.

The Recreation Facility Upgrade Project is part of a Queensland Government program to upgrade recreation facilities at popular dam and weir sites around Queensland.

Sunwater is upgrading facilities at Wuruma Dam campground area, with work expected to commence early August 2025 and finish in early December 2025.

During this period, the campground, toilet block, lookout and dam wall will be closed.
