Irrigation Price Review
Sunwater is preparing for our fourth Irrigation Price Review (IPR4) for the price period 1 July 2029 to 30 June 2033. Customer engagement is underway to help inform the process.
Overview
Sunwater provides water to 26 price-regulated service contract areas in Queensland: 22 bulk water supply schemes and four distribution schemes.
The Queensland Government sets the price of irrigation water supplied by Sunwater, based on recommendations made by Queensland Competition Authority (QCA).
Sunwater must submit a pricing proposal to QCA that demonstrates prudent and efficient costs for the price period 1 July 2029 to 30 June 2033.
Sunwater will engage with and seek feedback from our irrigation customers to inform our proposal throughout the review process.
We anticipate receiving a referral notice from the QCA in early 2027 and expect to submit our proposal in late 2027.
