Irrigation Price Path
Sunwater is developing a proposal to submit to the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) in late 2023. This will inform irrigation prices for the period 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2029.
Consultation
Sunwater is committed to proactive and ongoing engagement with our customers and acknowledges the feedback we have received. We have been engaging over the past few months with customers and peak body representative groups, over the past few months to identify issues we need to consider as part of our 2025-26 to 2028-29 pricing proposal, and to ensure our customers are aware of, and able to participate in, the irrigation price path review process.

GoVote – completed
We are asking customers to use an independent platform called GoVote to provide direct feedback on each proposal that we have put forward for the next price path.

In the week prior to the survey, GoVote will email contacts with a code and instructions. If an email is not listed against the account, GoVote will send an SMS or mailed letter. The website will be available to visit from 14-18 August 2023. Internet access will be required to register a response, and each code can only be used once for that account.
All responses will be anonymous, meaning Sunwater will not be able to view individual account responses.
Consultative Committee
We have also established a Consultative Committee comprising key organisations that represent and promote the interests of the bulk of Sunwater’s irrigation customer base:
- Queensland Farmers Federation
- Cotton Australia
- Queensland Fruit & Vegetable Growers
- CANEGROWERS Queensland.
The committee is an advisory body and its role includes:
- discussing individual organisational objectives and establishing shared outcomes where possible
- identifying and developing areas of alignment between Sunwater and its customers
- developing and/or providing feedback on policy matters that may be included in Sunwater’s submission
- advising on Sunwater’s engagement and communication efforts
- providing direct feedback on Sunwater’s proposals.
The committee meets on a monthly basis from March to November 2023.

We are rolling out a three-stage engagement plan to share information on current and draft prices and seek feedback on our proposal.
As part of this, we will be holding customer forums in regional centres and ensuring that all project materials are available online.
