Ross River Dam Management Services Contract

Sunwater has been providing quality dam management services to Townsville City Council for more than 10 years.

The current service contract expires on 30 June 2019, and we have been in discussions with Townsville City Council about the transition of operations since mid-2018.

As part of the transition and contract closure, we are in negotiations to potentially transfer our highly experienced local dam operators to Townsville City Council.

Sunwater is proud of the service we have provided to Townsville City Council over the period we have worked together, including most recently ensuring that the dam safely passed flood waters and operated as designed during the unprecedented monsoon in February 2019.

We will continue to operate Ross River Dam and support our customer, Townsville City Council until the transition is complete.

In accordance with current government policy, there will be no forced redundancies.

We will support our impacted people by providing alternative roles within Sunwater, facilitating a transfer of employment to Townsville City Council or offering voluntary redundancy.
