Water Pricing Review
The Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) has commenced its investigation into water prices to apply to Sunwater’s irrigation customers from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2024. The irrigation price review allows for a thorough examination of our costs and provides an opportunity for stakeholders to present their views on issues affecting them before the QCA recommends future irrigation water prices to the Queensland Government.
To assist the QCA in its review, we have developed a submission that details the costs of providing services to irrigation customers and the revenues we require to recover these costs. Our submission was developed in consultation with customer representatives and was provided to the QCA on 6 November 2018 (see below).
Since its submission, Sunwater has continued to work closely with customers, and is finalising two new proposals for the 2021/24 price period: an access charge and electricity cost estimation methodology and pass-through mechanism. We have developed fact sheets on each of these initiatives (see below).
