Accessing water from Paradise Dam at no charge

Paradise Dam

Sunwater is releasing 80,000ML of its own allocation from Paradise Dam to facilitate essential work to lower the dam’s spillway wall in 2020 and allow for better community safety management.

This water will be made available at no charge for the duration of the release program, which started on Friday 27 September and will continue, subject to weather, for a period of approximately 10-weeks.

Sunwater is encouraging existing customers and other interested parties to access this water.

Non-customers, and customers who do not divert from the Woongarra or Isis Channels or the river downstream of the dam, can benefit by entering into a short-term access agreement with Sunwater. The short-term access agreement form is available to download from https://www.sunwater.com.au/schemes/bundaberg/

There is no fee to enter this agreement or charge for any water diverted during this period. Sunwater has established standpipes at two locations to facilitate access.

Further information about the release program and how to access water at no charge as a customer or non-customer, including the location of standpipes, can be directed to customersupport@sunwater.com.au or by calling 13 15 89.
