Update 5 – Saturday 4 June, 12:00pm

The Burdekin Falls Dam boat ramp has reopened from 11am today, Saturday 4 June 2022.

Boat operators are reminded to read and obey the signs, look for submerged and floating hazards, boat to conditions and stay away from the dam wall by at least 200 metres, as marked by the buoy line, or as signed.

Any rainfall in the catchment causing the dam’s storage level to increase may lead to the boat ramp closing again.

The section of Burdekin Falls Dam Road directly below the spillway will remain closed while outflows occur.

We will continue to monitor the storage level and provide updates. Check the dam storage level at https://bit.ly/BurdekinFallsStorageLevels

Update 4 – Thursday, 2 June, 1:28pm

Burdekin Falls Dam is 103.5% capacity and the volume of excess water flowing over the spillway is decreasing.

If downstream of the dam, expect continued river flows and remember if it’s flooded, forget it.

An update will be issued if further rainfall in the catchment cause flows to increase.
