Beardmore Dam – spill event

Beardmore Dam is no longer spilling excess water. If you are downstream of the dam, continue to avoid potential hazards and remember if it’s flooded, forget it.

An update will be issued if further rainfall in the catchment cause flows to increase.

  • following Sunwater on Facebook and Twitter 
  • checking the Balonne Shire Disaster Dashboard balonne.qld.gov.au/community/disaster-and-emergencies for emergency news, road and crossing closures and power outages
  • monitoring forecasts and river levels at bom.gov.au
  • checking the dam’s level at https://bit.ly/BeardmoreStorageLevel

Beardmore Dam is 100% capacity and spilling excess water.

If downstream of the dam, expect increased river flows and remember if it’s flooded, forget it. All persons who have pumps near the river are advised to monitor the height of the river and consider removal.
