New app delivers greater flexibility for Sunwater customers

Sunwater has launched a new app that allows customers across regional Queensland to stay on top of their water use while on the go.

Minister for Water Glenn Butcher said the Sunwater Customer App gives water users convenient access to their account information at a time and place that best suits them.

“Many of our agriculture, urban and industrial customers manage their business operations while on the move. I know from talking to regional water users that they are always on the go and the app will means they can access their account whenever they need to and from any location,” Mr Butcher said.

“The app’s secure customer login provides instant access to the same features as the Sunwater Online portal, such as meter reads, water ordering, oversight of all water accounts and the ease of temporary water transfers.

“The app is user friendly and is an important addition to Sunwater’s suite of technology that aims to provide a more seamless customer experience.

“It’s important for customers in regional Queensland to have technology that supports the way they do business.

“The app supports this by recognising that customers don’t work from a desk, or the same location, each day.”

The app is a direct product of customer engagement, with focus groups from across regional Queensland providing input into the design, development and testing of the tool.

Mr Butcher said initial feedback from customers has been positive, with app upgrades being implemented where necessary to ensure the technology is delivered to a best-practise standard.

“The launch of the app is just one of the ways that Sunwater is delivering new technology and accessible business services to customers,” he said.

“A range of communication channels are also offered to customers to suit their needs.

A live chat function was recently launched on the Sunwater website to provide customers with another direct line of business and account support without the need to call the customer team.”

The chat function is available during business hours on weekdays and can be accessed on both desktop and mobile device.

The customer app complements the popular community app that provides information on its 19 dams, including storage levels, dam outflow alerts, recreation area and operational updates, and current water quality data.

Both the Sunwater Customer and Community apps are available free of charge through the Apple Store and Google Play.
