Burdekin water demand survey open

North Queensland growers are being urged to outline their water needs in a survey that will help determine the future of the state’s biggest dam.

Sunwater and Building Queensland are seeking the data to inform a business case investigating options to raise Burdekin Falls Dam, south of Townsville.

Natural Resources Minister Dr Anthony Lynham said the survey would provide an understanding of how much water is required to meet demand, supporting future growth and productivity.
