SunWater is a leading water industry company providing bulk water supply services to over 6000 customers and water consultancy services to a range of industry clients.
As a Queensland government-owned corporation (GOC), SunWater provides a range of services including infrastructure ownership, water delivery, operation and maintenance of infrastructure and engineering consultancy services.
Over the last 80 years, SunWater has built and now owns and operates a regional network of water supply infrastructure throughout Queensland which supports irrigated agriculture, mining, power generation, industrial and urban development.
SunWater's water storage and distribution infrastructure has a replacement value of $2.7billion and includes:
- 19 major dams
- 63 weirs and barrages
- 80 major pumping stations
- more than 2500 kilometres of pipelines and open channels.
SunWater supplies approximately 40% of the water used commercially in Queensland via 23 water supply schemes and has a proud history of supporting regional Queensland communities through these schemes.
As a specialist water service provider, SunWater has extensive expertise in operating and maintaining dams and weirs, pump stations, pipelines, open channels and drainage systems.
With a highly skilled and experienced staff, SunWater can assist with all aspects of water business management such as water allocation management, asset management planning, project evaluation and customer service.
SunWater provides professional engineering services with advice offered in the areas of planning, design and construction of bulk water storages, irrigation areas and distribution infrastructure.
