Water Boards – Distribution Operation Licence (DOL) Holders

SunWater’s process varies slightly when the seller has a distribution contract with a Distribution Operations Licence (DOL) holder.

The DOL holders are:

  • Pioneer Valley Water Board – Pioneer Valley Water Supply Scheme
  • Kelsey Creek Water Board – Proserpine Water Supply Scheme
  • Six Mile Creek Water Supply Board – Proserpine Water Supply Scheme
  • Lower Burdekin Water – Burdekin Haughton Water Supply Scheme

The variations to SunWater’s process are:

Where an application form is required [ Transfers, Lease or Change ] the following sections do not have to be fully completed as the following information may not be known and/or not applicable:

  • Part A & B – Customer Account ID and Water Account ID
  • Part D – Offtake Transfer Details
  • Part F – Transfer Volume of available water

Approval is required from the relevant DOL holder before SunWater can proceed with the application; this can be obtained directly or SunWater can submit a request on the applicant’s behalf.

  • Copy of Dealing Certificate issued by the Department

To reduce our customers’ paper handling and postage costs, and improve turnaround times, SunWater is accepts documentation for water allocation transfers in softcopy via e-mail, as an alternative to hardcopy by post. Should you wish to provide us your documents via e-mail, they should be sent as text-readable pdfs to customersupport@sunwater.com.au. If documents are sent in softcopy, we do not require them to be sent in hardcopy as well.

Response Time by SunWater

Our aim is to complete all applications efficiently and within an acceptable timeframe. The following is a guide on our response times:

Transfers or Lease

  • Issue Supply Contracts for signing (10 business days from receipt of fully completed application form and ALL required documents/forms)
  • Issue of a ‘Notice to Registrar’ (formerly known as a ROP13) - 2 business days from receipt of completed/signed supply contracts

Subdivision or Amalgamation

  • Issue of a ‘Notice to Registrar’ (formerly known as a ROP13) - 2 business days from receipt of dealing certificate

Change

  • Issue Supply Contracts for signing and a ‘Notice to Registrar’ (formerly known as a ROP13) - 10 business days from receipt of fully completed application form and ALL required documents/forms

Application Fee

An Administration and Transfer Fee - Sale is applicable and an invoice for the fee is emailed to the Solicitor/Customer upon receipt of the application. Current fees can be obtained from the Fees & Charges Schedule for the relevant scheme located on Scheme Information.

No fee is applicable for Subdivision or Amalgamation applications.
