Rainfall in the Upper Burnett not enough to lift storage levels
The recent rainfall recorded in the Upper Burnett region, has been useful in wetting down the region’s catchment area, but unfortunately not really enough to lift water users out of critical water supply arrangements.
Bjelke Petersen Dam is currently at 2.7% and holding 3681 megalitres and there has been no real change in water levels in the last 24 hours.
The Bureau of Meteorology has reported some localised rainfall in the area but it hasn’t been significant enough to be deemed drought breaking at this stage.
However, with the catchments now sodden, we are certainly looking forward to any significant follow up rain over the next few days in the hope they may have some effect on water levels.
We will continue to monitor dam levels and any inflows and advise customers if there has been any change to the water supply situation in that area.
