Customer Councils

A significant way in which SunWater achieves its service delivery objectives and ensures customer involvement is by working with our Customer Councils.

Customer Councils provide a formal mechanism through which SunWater and our customers work together in relation to scheme management and water supply issues and improvements. Customer Councils consist of a group of SunWater customers either within an individual scheme or a group of schemes, that are representative of the broader customer base for area. There are 12 Customer Councils across Queensland.

Customer Councils work closely with SunWater business centres at a regional level, and liaise directly with SunWater’s management team and Board of Directors.

The main function of the Customer Council is to provide advice and feedback to SunWater in relation to:

  • management of the schemes;
  • customer relationship issues; and
  • strategic matters.

This may include issues in relation to strategy, policy, asset planning, service standards and delivery across the region.

SunWater and Customer Councils are also working collaboratively in identifying and introducing new approaches and improvements to water management.

More information regarding the Customer Council in your area is available at SunWaterOnline. By logging in to SunWaterOnline, you will see who your Customer Council representatives are and what your Customer Councils are involved in.
