[MUSIC PLAYING]

[3D SUNWATER LOGO IS DISPLAYED]

[SUNWATER LOGO EXITS]

[A WATER DROPLET APPEARS AND SPLASHES ON THE FLOOR CREATING A PUDDLE]

[SPLAT SOUND]

[A 3D CHARACTER NAMED ‘BLUE’ IS TOSSED OUT OF THE PUDDLE]

BLUE: Whoa!

[BLUE CRASHES INTO THE SCREEN]

BLUE: Ump! Ah!

[BLUE RUBS HEAD]

[BLUE WAVES HANDS]

BLUE: Hi there kids. My name’s Blue.

[SPLAT SOUND]

[BLUE BACKS AWAY]

BLUE: Whoa. That was close.

[BLUE RUNS TO SEE THE SPLAT]

[THE SPLAT IS ON THE FLOOR]

[BLUE LOOKS INTO THE SPLAT]

[THE SPLAT SERVES AS A PORTAL SHOWING ANOTHER SCENE INSIDE]

BLUE: Ah! I know what that is. It’s a water channel.

[WATER FLOWING SOUND]

[WATER CHANNEL IS DISPLAYED THROUGH THE SPLAT]

BLUE: A water channel guides water between farms, supplying much needed water when required.

[THROUGH THE SPLAT, BLUE SEES 2 CHILDREN KICKING A SOCCER BALL TO EACH OTHER NEXT TO THE WATER]

BLUE: Hang on! What are those kids doing there? Didn't those kids see the danger signs?

[MAGICAL MUSIC PLAYS]

[BLUE JUMPS INTO THE SPLAT]

[THE CHILDREN ACCIDENTALLY KICK THE BALL INTO THE WATER]

[SOUND OF BALL SPLASHING IN THE WATER]

[BLUE RUNS TOWARD THE CHILDREN]

BLUE: Wait!

[BLUE PANTING]

BOY: Oh! Hi Blue.

GIRL: Hi Blue.

BLUE: [PANTING] Hi [PAUSE] Kids. What are you kids doing here?

GIRL: Playing.

BLUE: I guess you didn’t see the danger signs.

BOY: What danger signs?

BLUE: I’ll show you. Follow me.

[BLUE WALKS ALONG THE WATER CHANNEL WITH THE CHILDREN FOLLOWING]

BLUE: Did you realise you’re playing near a water channel?

[WATER FLOWING SOUND]

[FAST FLOWING WATER IS DISPLAYED]

BLUE: It’s a very dangerous place.

[BLUE POINTS TO THE WATER]

BLUE: Have a look at this. Firstly, see the water? It’s not clean. And could make you very sick.

BOY: It looks clean.

BLUE: It does.

[UNDERWATER SCENE SHOWING ENLARGED IMAGE OF BACTERIA]

BLUE: But there are very small nasty things in the water which could make you very sick.

[GIRL LOOKS AT DANGER SIGN]

[MESSAGE ON SIGN: DANGER OPEN CHANNEL – NO UNAUTHORISED ACCESS – HAZARDS MAY CAUSE DEATH OR INJURY]

BLUE: Yeah, that’s one reason, but there is another.

[WATER CHANNEL GATE IS DISPLAYED]

BLUE: Gates let the water out very quickly and you could become trapped in deep water. It might look calm, but the water can move really fast and you might get sucked under.

BOY: I just wanted to get my ball.

BLUE: I know. But that’s why I stopped you. The sides are also very slippery.

[UNDERWATER SCENE]

BLUE: See the algae and moss? If you fell in you might not be able to get out again.

BOY: Whoa. I didn’t know that.

BLUE: But now you know, right?

BOY and GIRL: Yep. Thanks Blue.

BLUE: Do you know what a weir is?

[BOY AND GIRL SHAKE THEIR HEADS]

[BLUE TAKES HOLD OF BOY’S HAND]

BLUE: I think you’ll need to see this.

[BLUE TAKES HOLD OF GIRL’S HAND]

[MAGICAL MUSIC PLAYS]

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL JUMP OUT OF THE SPLAT]

BLUE, BOY and GIRL: Whoa!

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL HIT SCREEN AND FALL]

BLUE: Sorry about that.

[BOY AND GIRL CHUCKLE]

[SPLAT SOUND]

BOY: Whoa! What was that?

[WATER FLOWING SOUND]

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL WALK TOWARD THE SPLAT]

GIRL: I know where that is.

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL LOOK INTO THE SPLAT]

GIRL: It’s not far from our farm.

BLUE: That’s right. Do you know what that is?

GIRL: Not really.

BLUE: Come on. I’ll show you.

[MAGICAL MUSIC PLAYS]

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL JUMP INTO THE SPLAT]

[BOY AND GIRL GIGGLE]

BLUE: Whew!

GIRL: It looks different now.

BOY: Yeah. Where’s all the water?

BLUE: A weir only holds a certain amount of water.

[WATER FLOWING AT A WEIR IS DISPLAYED]

BLUE: When it rains the water flows over the top. Plus, when farmers need some more water downstream, water is released here. When it is released, it fills this area very quickly.

GIRL: So, that’s why we are not supposed to swim or play around the weir.

[GIRL POINTS TO A SIGN WHICH READS: WARNING – SUBMERGED LOGS IN THESE WATERS]

[A SIGN IS DISPLAYED SHOWING SAFETY SYMBOLS: SUCTION HAZARD, NO SWIMMING - DANGEROUS CURRENT, CLIFF RISK AREA, NO UNAUTHORISED ENTRY, NO BOATING, NO SWIMMING, NO FISHING]

BLUE: That’s right. This is a no go zone at all times. If you get washed away, you might never get out.
Also, there are things like logs and pipes under the water which could trap you if you jump in.

[FAST FLOWING WATER AND A LOG IS DISPLAYED]

BLUE: Remember. Play safe. Stay away.

[BOY AND GIRL NOD]

BLUE: Ok. I have one more thing to show you.

[MAGICAL MUSIC PLAYS]

BOY: Do we have to jump?

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL JUMP OUT OF THE SPLAT]

[BOY SAYS THE FIRST PART OF THE WORD JUMP WHILE COMING OUT OF THE SPLAT]

BLUE, BOY AND GIRL: Whoa!

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL FALL ON THE FLOOR]

BOY: Jump again!

BLUE: Sorry about that.

[WATER FLOWING SOUND]

GIRL: What’s that noise?

BLUE: Glad you asked. Come on.

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL WALK TOWARD THE SPLAT]

BOY: Whoa! Cool!

[GIRL SOMEWHAT UNSURE]

GIRL: Cool? Looks dangerous to me.

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL LOOK INTO THE SPLAT]

[A DAM RELEASING WATER IS DISPLAYED]

BLUE: It’s a dam. Like a weir, a dam holds back water. But a dam can release the water at anytime. And it holds millions and millions of litres of water.
Come on. I’ll show you.

[MAGICAL MUSIC PLAYS]

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL JUMP INTO THE SPLAT]

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL WALK TOWARD A FENCE]

[BIRD SINGING BACKGROUND SOUND]

BOY: Where’s all the water?

BLUE: The water isn’t being released now. It looks calm and peaceful, right? That can change very quickly.
So kids, what’s the first thing you should do if you come to a place like this?

BOY: Look for danger signs?

BLUE: Great! Let’s do that.

[GIRL READS FROM THE SIGN]

[A SIGN IS DISPLAYED: DANGER, DAM OPERATIONS – KEEP OUT. SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH MAY RESULT FROM APPROACHING THE DAM WALL]

GIRL: No boating, swimming or fishing permitted within 200 metres of the dam wall.

[A SIGN IS DISPLAYED: DANGER, OUTLET WORKS – NO UNAUTHORISED ACCESS. HAZARDS MAY CAUSE DEATH OR INJURY]

BOY: It’s good there’s a fence here.

[A SIGN IS DISPLAYED: DANGER, DAM SPILLWAY – NO ENTRY. SPILLWAY GATES MAY RELEASE WATER WITHOUT WARNING, RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. PUBLIC ENTRY PAST THIS POINT IS PROHIBITED]

BLUE: Yeah! But some people jump the fence and go closer.

GIRL: That’s a bad idea.

BLUE: There are places to go for a picnic and to enjoy the view. Like over there.

[PICNIC AREA IS DISPLAYED]

GIRL: So there are safe places to go.

BLUE: Yes. There are. But you need to read the signs carefully. And never, never go near water without a grown-up.

BOY: Shhh! Do you hear that?

[WATER SOUND]

[DAM RELEASING WATER IS DISPLAYED]

BLUE: Ah! Good hearing, Lee. They've started releasing water. Come on. I’ll show you.

BOY: Wow! It didn’t take long for all that water to come out.

GIRL: There’s no way I’d play anywhere near that.

BLUE: Good thinking. Remember. Play safe. Stay away.
Well. I think it’s time to go. I’ll try to make the trip a little more comfortable this time.

[MAGICAL MUSIC PLAYS]

[BLUE HOLDS HANDS WITH BOY AND GIRL]

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL JUMP OUT OF THE SPLAT]

BOY AND GIRL: Whoa!

[CHILDREN GIGGLING]

BLUE: Ah! That was better.

[SOUND OF 3 SPLATS]

GIRL: Whoa!

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL LOOK INTO A SPLAT]

[WATER CHANNEL AND WATER FLOWING IS DISPLAYED IN THE SPLAT]

BOY: That’s the water channel. The water isn’t clean enough to drink.

GIRL: Right. And you shouldn’t swim in it either, because the water flows fast and could get trapped.

BOY: And the sides are very slippery. If you go in you might not be able to get out. Or worse, get sucked under.

BLUE: Very good.

BOY: And that’s the weir.

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL WALK TO LOOK INSIDE ANOTHER SPLAT]

[WEIR AND WATER FLOWING IS DISPLAYED IN THE SPLAT]

GIRL: There are logs and pipes under the water, so don’t swim in there.

BOY: And the water can be released at anytime. So don’t play near it.

BLUE: And what about that one?

[BLUE, BOY AND GIRL WALK TO LOOK INSIDE ANOTHER SPLAT]

BOY AND GIRL: The dam!

[DAM RELEASING WATER IS DISPLAYED IN THE SPLAT]

BOY: Always read the signs.

GIRL: Only picnic and play in the designated areas.

BLUE: Very good. Always look for signs whenever you are around water.
If you can’t find any signs, stay away from the water just in case.

[BOY NODS]

BOY: Yeah. Thanks Blue.

GIRL: Thank you, Blue.

BLUE: No problem.

[BLUE TOSSES THE BALL TO THE BOY]

BLUE: And here you go.
Remember. Play safe. Stay away.
