Upstream projects associated with the Paradise Dam project include the Mingo Crossing Bridge and Yenda Ben Yenda.
Both projects were necessary to ensure uninterrupted access to local roads once the Dam was completed.
The new Mingo Crossing bridge is located approximately 100 metres upstream from the old Mingo Crossing Bridge. At approximately 300 metres long and 25 metres high the bridge took just over a year to complete and now provides travellers with far greater flood immunity than ever before.
New recreational facilities downstream of the Mingo Crossing Bridge include camping grounds, picnic areas, boat ramps, fish cleaning stations and walking trails.
Yenda Ben Yenda Crossing is low level crossing featuring a 150m long causeway. The crossing replaces a flood-prone causeway, generally trafficable only by 4x4 vehicles.
