Aquatic Ecosystem Monitoring

Burnett Water has contracted a specialist consultant to undertake a 10 year aquatic ecosystem monitoring program in the vicinity of Paradise Dam, commencing in 2006. The monitoring program covers sites within the impoundment area of Paradise Dam as well as sites upstream and downstream of the dam.

The program includes assessment of:

platypus populations and platypus habitat;
macroinvertebrate community composition; and
aquatic macrophyte assemblages.
