Environmental Management

Burnett Water is committed to environmental management and is implementing several monitoring programs to minimise impact on the local environment.

Burnett Water has made a considerable financial investment in environmental plans, monitoring, fishways and other environmental programs in relation to both Paradise Dam and Kirar Weir.

Programs including monitoring of lungfish, aquatic ecosystems, groundwater levels and quality, and fishway effectiveness have been introduced since the commencement of operations of Paradise Dam and Kirar Weir.
