Public can learn more about Connors River Dam and Pipelines Project

14 Aug 2009

The public will have another chance to find out more about the proposed Connors River Dam and Pipelines Project this week thanks to a series of public information sessions being held in Moranbah and Nebo.

SunWater, the organisation responsible for delivering the dam and pipeline, has made significant progress with the project’s Environmental Impact Statement and proposed pipeline route and the project’s final Terms of Reference have now been released by the Coordinator General.

SunWater Project Manager Sean Fleming said the sessions were a great opportunity for local residents to talk to members of the project team and provide their suggestions and feedback on the project before the EIS is finalised.

“We have already received quite a lot of local interest since first starting our project investigations and we encourage more residents to come and talk to our team to find out more about this important water infrastructure project for the region,” Mr Fleming said.

Information sessions will be conducted in the following locations:

Moranbah Community Centre, 17th August, 4pm to 7.30pm, Batchelor Street, Moranbah.

Nebo Supper Room, 18th August, 4pm to 7.30pm, Reynolds Street, Nebo.
