Sunwater Board appointments

Lisa Caffery

Sunwater is pleased to announce the appointment of two experienced Directors to its Board.

Lisa Caffrey has joined as a Director and Chair, while Leeha James becomes Sunwater’s sixth Director.

Ms Caffery is passionate about community engagement in regional Queensland. She has a background in stakeholder relations, performance management and social research, catering to corporate, government and not-for-profit clients.

Currently, Deputy Chair of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Services Board, Ms Caffery is also the independent Chair of the Groundwater and Environment Reference Group for Glencore Coal Investments Australia.

She has completed a PhD focused on health equity, regional communities, and social impact, and will replace Dan Hunt, who has served as interim Chair since March 2021.

Ms James has more than 20 years’ legal experience, specialising in workplace health and safety, litigation and compensation, with expertise working for community-based and not-for-profit organisations.

She is owner and Director of specialist compensation law firm, James Law, and is the President of the Bayside Community Legal Service. She previously held the position of founding Director for the Firefighters Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Sunwater also acknowledges the reappointment of Director David Stewart, who enters his sixth year on the Board.

Directors Jane Williams and Stuart Armitage, who were appointed in the past 12 months, and continuing Director Vanessa Sullivan complete the six-person Board.

Sunwater would like to thank Mr Hunt for his leadership and support during his tenure as Interim Chairman.
