SunWater Board

The Board of SunWater comprises six directors selected for their individual and combined expertise to overview and direct the corporation.

William Siganto BE (Civil), MBA, SEP

Chair

William Siganto - ChairWill brings more than 25 years engineering and strategic business expertise to his Chairmanship at SunWater. He holds postgraduate business qualifications from London Business School and Harvard University.

Will’s engineering career has seen him work as a civil and consultant engineer, and earn a Masters of Business Administration at London Business School. He worked at Pacific Dunlop, one of Australia’s leading diversified industrial companies, as National Grocery Sales Manager before joining Siganto and Stacey, now Queensland’s largest family owned air conditioning business with national interests. Until 2012, Will was Managing Director for 16 years. During the last decade Will has held Chair and Executive Chair roles at AirMech in Dubai and SigTech Contractors in Singapore.

Will is actively involved in the business and educational community, as Chair of St Laurence’s Old Boys Foundation, longtime Executive and Chair of the AU/NZ Young President’s Organization and former Governor of the Queensland Overseas Foundation.

Tom Connor AO BE(Civil), MEngSc, PhD, Hon Fellow IEAust, MASCE, FTSE, CPEng(Civil), RPEQ

Director

Tom Connor - DirectorTom is the Director of Engineering Technology and Sustainability of the Government and Infrastructure Division of the Asia Pacific operations of Kellogg Brown and Root Pty Ltd, a global engineering and construction firm. He has over 30 years’ experience in engineering and project management in the water sector in Australia and internationally.

Tom is Chair of the Queensland Sustainable Energy Advisory Council and has undertaken that role since its inception. The Council advises the Queensland Government on innovation fund applications in energy and water. He is a past National President of the Institution of Engineers Australia (now Engineers Australia) and past Chair of the Australian Council of Building Design Professions.

Kirstin Ferguson BA (Hon), LLB (Hon), GAICD

Director

Kirstin Ferguson - DirectorKirstin is an experienced non-executive director sitting on a diverse range of listed and unlisted boards, including Thiess, Dart Energy, SunWater and Queensland Rugby Union. Kirstin has also previously been an independent member on the Queensland Workplace Health & Safety Board. 

Kirstin has received a number of awards for her work as a non-executive director including the prestigious Talbot Foundation Scholarship awarded by the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) in 2012 and she was also selected for the AICD ASX Chairman’s Mentoring Program in 2011. Kirstin is a Graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course and International Company Directors Course.

In addition to her corporate governance skills, Kirstin has specific corporate and commercial experience having been CEO of a global organisation operating across Australia, North and South America, Europe and Africa providing health and safety consulting to the mining and resources industry. Kirstin also has a strong professional services background having spent many years as a senior executive with one of Australia's leading international law firms. 

Kirstin is currently completing a PhD in Business with a specific focus on safety governance for ASX listed boards. For her research, Kirstin was honoured in 2012 as the QUT Colin Brain Governance Fellow and has also been awarded an Australian Postgraduate Scholarship. 

Kirstin has a degree in Law from QUT (with Honours) and Arts from UNSW (with Honours). Kirstin has previously been named Brisbane Young Manager of the Year (2005) by the Australian Institute of Management and has also been awarded a Churchill Fellowship (2003).

Alan Millhouse BCom, LLB(Qld), LLM(Lond)

Director

Alan Millhouse - DirectorAlan is a senior finance, commercial and infrastructure lawyer and was a partner of Allens Arthur Robinson for 30 years until he retired on 30 June 2009. Alan now consults to Allens. He has particular expertise in the water industry, having advised the Queensland Government and private sector corporations extensively in respect of the development of many major water projects in Queensland in recent years, including Wyaralong, Paradise and Nathan dam projects and the Western Corridor Recycled Water Project. Alan also has considerable experience in the financing and development of major infrastructure projects, both within Australia and in Asia.

Alan has advised the boards of many Queensland GOCs in respect to their corporate governance obligations and in respect to directors’ duties generally. He is a former president of the Infrastructure Association of Queensland, a former president of the Banking and Financial Services Law Association of Australia and an adjunct professor in law at the University of Queensland.

Alan is a Member of the Queensland Law Society, Infrastructure Association of Queensland, Banking and Financial Services Law Association of Australia, and the Australian Institute of Company Director.

Greg Moynihan BCom, GradDipSIA, ASA, Fellow FINSIA, MAICD

Director

Greg Moynihan - DirectorWhile spending most of his career within the broad finance sector, Greg has enjoyed general management roles in a wide range of disciplines. These include responsibilities for financial and capital management, investment management, corporate strategy and marketing, as well as having primary accountability for business operations covering general insurance, business banking, retail banking and wealth management.

Greg is a former Chief Executive Officer of Metway Bank Limited and has held senior executive positions in Citibank Australia, Metway Bank and Suncorp Metway Limited. Since 2003 he has pursued a number of business interests in the investment management and private equity sectors, as well as undertaking professional company director responsibilities.

Greg has held directorships with Cashcard Australia Ltd, LJ Hooker Ltd, RACQ Insurance Ltd, Hedge Funds of Australia Ltd (Chair), Suncorp Metway Ltd (various subsidiaries), and First Base Pooled Development Fund.

He is currently a Director of Ausenco Limited, Calbridge Ltd, UAP Holdings Pty. Ltd., GRG Residential Pty Ltd and a number of private investment companies.

Dr William Wild PhD, B Com, LLB, LLM

Director

Will is the Managing Director at St Lucia Finance Group and a Senior Lecturer at QUT Business School at the Queensland University of Technology.

Will brings to SunWater his experience, which has spanned over a 21 year career, in international banking with Masters and Doctoral degrees in law and finance, full time finance academic work and has also been an expert witness before the Federal Court of Australia.

Will has held the positions of Principal Adviser and Head of Project Finance Syndication at KBC Bank in London and was the Vice President of the Bank of America in Hong Kong and has extensive experience in international project finance, corporate finance and loans syndications.

As well as a practitioner, Will is also a leading writer on the $4.5 trillion syndicated loan market with two defining works including, The Economic Basis of Syndicated Lending in 2004 and Modelling Risk in Loan Syndication in 2008. He was a contributor to the most recent (5th) edition of the primary industry reference Syndicated Lending, Euromoney Books in 2009.

Will regularly presents at industry seminars and has particular research interests in the banking, structured finance and project finance sectors.
